Public lecture on the practice of international conflict mediation

Nasiffik - Centre for Foreign & Security Policy invites to a public lecture with Paul Dziatkowiec.

Nasiffik is pleased to welcome Paul Dziatkowiec for a public guest lecture on the practice of international conflict mediation.

Mediation and behind-the-scenes diplomacy play a central role in preventing and resolving conflict, managing tensions between states, and supporting long-term peace, stability, and security worldwide.

Dziatkowiec will share insights from across his career which include over eleven years as an Australian diplomat, a decade mediating conflicts in Ukraine, Myanmar, Nigeria, and Thailand at the Centre for Humanitarian Dialogue, and his current role at Geneva Centre for Security Policy, where he leads a number of confidential dialogue processes, including the High North Talks on the Arctic.

This lecture offers a timely opportunity to hear directly from a practitioner working on issues affecting the Arctic and beyond - and the lecture is open to the public.

Paul Dziatkowiec currently serves as the Director of Mediation and Peace Support at Geneva Centre for Security Policy, Senior Adviser to the Inter-Parliamentary Union and the Peace Dividend Initiative, expert on UNDP’s crisis response roster, Fellow at the Oxford Global Society and World Academy of Art and Science, member of Diplomats Without Borders and the Explorers Club, Associate Editor of the Arab Journal for Security Studies.
